Ever tried getting the best Las Vegas resort getaways deal that you keep hearing about on the Internet but never seem to find? Andrew Lincoln of Budget Travel tried out some nifty ways to score some hotel deals and he’s exposing all the dirty little secrets to getting the best deals in Vegas that you only dreamed possible.

The most successful method that he used was negotiating directly with the hotels over the phone or in person. He was either able to bargain down the price or was able to get a free room upgrade. We’re talking of suite upgrades that are situated in their own exclusive towers with their own entrances and front desks. Furthermore you get an amazing view of the Wynn golf course. On top of that you get your own phone in the bathroom and who doesn’t want to make million dollar business deals like a Trump on the can?

How is all these deals possible? Apparently Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps has a glut of hotel rooms on the strip. As a consumer you just have to bargain and ask for the amenities. It never hurts to prod and ask your way into free upgrades with a down economy and the pending opening of the Citi Center hotels that will only add to the additional glut of available rooms on the strip.

Andrew went a step further and got some incredible deals at high end restaurants like Mario Batali’s B&B Ristorante, Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio, and Emeril Lagasse’s Delmonico steakhouse. Imagine your self treated to the best meals on the strip for only $48.

One of the best kept secrets of getting an incredible deal on the strip is bargain for rooms at or after 8pm. The pit bosses then return any on-the-house rooms they were supposed to comp to the high rollers back to the registration desk. Finally the registration desk gets the opportunity to reserve all of them for the night. Its in the hotels’ and resorts’ best interests to keep their rooms booked to the maximum every night. Any rooms booked at a steal to the guests is still better than having the rooms stay empty. It makes perfect business sense to the casinos.

So if you’re stressed with constantly thinking of job security or penny pinching in a recession, try living like a king on a pauper’s budget in Vegas. A recession tightens everyone’s budget especially the high end resorts and casinos meaning big savings for the little guy like you and me.
